Age 90, of Everett, passed away on May 30, 2014. Dorothy was born on April 23, 1924 in Detroit, Mich. to Albert and Katherine (McPhillips) Manniko. She attended Calumet High School in Calumet, Mich. and graduated with honors at the young age of 17. She then went on to receive a degree in business from the Packard School in New York City. In 1943, Dorothy met the love of her life, Ralph Denham, they married and moved to the state of Washington in 1946. Together Ralph and Dorothy raised three children and were happily married for 50 years before Ralph's passing in 1997. Dorothy enjoyed many arts including, watercolor and oil painting, music, learning new languages and practicing Tai Chi. She was an avid traveler and traveled to over thirty countries in her lifetime, including visits to China, Israel and Russia. She was also very proud of her degree in business and her skills in dictation and stenography. Dorothy worked for the Snohomish County Court System then the Snohomish County Planning Department for over 20 years before retiring at the age of 70. Dorothy was preceded in death by both her parents; by her beloved husband, Ralph Denham; by her daughter, Carol; and by her sister, Betty. She is survived by her daughter, Janis Kinney; by her son, Randy Denham (Renee); by her brother, with whom she was very close, Tom Manniko; by her two grandchildren, Abby and Daniel Denham; and by her cousin, Mary Powers. A private family burial will be held for Dorothy. Arrangements are being cared for under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Home & Cemetery, www.evergreen-fh.com, in Everett, Wash.
