Richard Alan Hanson, of Lynnwood, WA, died June 8, 2014. He was 71 years old. He was born September 4, 1942 in Crookston, MN. Dick was the youngest of five children born to Clifford and Helen Hanson. At 17, he met Bonnie Joan Leas. They married and moved to Seattle, Wash. in 1962 where they raised two daughters. Dick and Bonnie celebrated 42 years of marriage. Dick started his career working on the Bomarc missiles with Boeing. However, 25+ years was spent with Lockheed Shipbuilding Corporation where his passion was focused on the building of world-class ships. After moving to Silverdale, Wash. he retired as the Director of Quality Assurance from Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space. Dick took great pride in his work and accomplishments and together with Bonnie, they were a strong team and wonderful parents. Any spare time was spent with family camping and working on home improvements as we all know Dick as the "jack of all trades". Dick is survived by his daughters; Lori Petterson and Shelly Norsby; sons-in-law, Kyle Petterson and Chris Norsby; grandsons, Zachary Norsby and Landon Petterson; granddaughter, Danielle Norsby; sister, Marlene Owens; brother, Maynard (Pete) Hanson; and many nieces and nephews. Service will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Beck's Funeral Home in Edmonds at 10:00 a.m., immediately followed by burial at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline, Wash.
