Ronald Rodriguez, 70, passed away at his home in Everett, surrounded by loved ones June 23, 2014. Ronald was born in Bellville, Ill., October 23, 1943. He leaves behind his loving wife, CJ Rodriguez; daughter, Victoria Jackson; son, Jerry Diehl; daughter in-law, Kimberly Diehl; grandchildren, Chelsea and Casey Diehl, and Jonathan Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Mckenzie and Josiah Jackson. At the age of 16, Ron joined the US Navy Medical Corps. He was a helicopter pilot and served in the armed forces. From there, Ron graduated from the National Autonomous of Mexico, one of the top 50 colleges in the world. Ron was a brilliant constructional engineer, with works including overseeing the construction of the Bellagio Hotel and Mirage resort in Las Vegas, Nev. His specialty was tunnel construction including the construction of the Tetsuo Harano Tunnel cutting through the Koolau Mountains in Oahu, Hawaii. Ron also had a passion for marble and precious stone work. Ron and CJ had a marble business for several years and taught me to appreciate the marble and granite world as well. Ron had a flair for life, and a wonderful palette for fine cuisine from his travels across the world. One of his and CJ's favorite travel spots was traveling through France and across Europe, as well as local destinations such as Seaside, Ore. and Long Beach. Ron was well loved, and will be missed dearly.
