Joe Edwin Dietz, 82, of Darrington passed away August 1, 2014 with his family by his side in Arlington. He was born to Columbus and Mary Deitz July 19, 1932 in Sylva, N.C. Joe served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He returned to be a millwright at Summitt Timber Co. in Darrington. He went on to a career as a machinist with Everett Engineering, from where he retired. Joe was a very talented hardworking craftsman of whom it was said there was no job too big for him to accomplish. He was preceded in death by his two infant daughters, parents, six brothers and three sisters. Surviving Joe is his loving wife of 57 years, Magdelene Dietz of Darrington; son, Ronald (Laurie) Dietz of Arlington; many nieces and nephews; as well as numerous friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 9, 2014, 12:00 noon at the Darrington Community Center, 570 Sauk Ave., Darrington, Wash.
