Polly was born in Richland, Wisconsin in 1935 to Charles and Frances Groshong. She died August 10, 2014 in Everett, Washington. Her family moved to Washington in the 1950's and at one time she was voted Miss Everett. She was a homemaker while her children were young and rejoined the workforce in 1982 as a clerk at the Edmonds Police Department. She worked there until she retired in 2000. Polly could always be found with her camera snapping photos of her co-workers when they least expected it. After retirement she traveled and spent time in Chelan. Polly loved going to the casino and was one lucky lady when it came to the slots. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Bob Groshong, Rich Groshong and Mike Groshong. Polly married Talford Sorenson in 1956 and was married for 33 years prior to his death in 1990. She leaves behind her partner of 17 years Bill Dahl; children Vicki Pierson (Frank), David Sorenson, Debbie Waddell (Rece); her grandchildren Nicole Pierson, Michelle Houston (Nate), Nick Waddell, Anthony Waddell, Gabe Waddell; and great-grandchildren Gaige Houston and Sadie Grace Houston. A private burial took place at Floral Hills Cemetery on August 13, 2014 with Purdy and Walters in charge of the arrangements. There will be a celebration of her life at a later date. We would like to thank the staff at the Everett Care Center for the wonderful care she received.
