William "Bill" Robert Denton was born August 4, 1924 in Britton, South Dakota to Robert N. Denton and Alimeda Corliss. Bill went home to Glory on August 22, 2014, while surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers (Robert and Jackson); and survived by his wife of 68 years, Winnie; sister, Helen Bundrock; all of his children, grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill married Winnifred Pewitt in 1946 and raised four children: Nick (Connie) Denton of Albuquerque, N.M.; Shirley Everard of Rathdrum, Idaho; Sam (Sally) Denton of Post Falls, Idaho and Dan (Michelle) Denton of Snohomish, Wash. Before completing high school, Bill joined the Army and defended his beloved country in the Pacific Theater. While in the service Bill was decorated with a Silver Star, a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. After the Army, Bill completed his high school education. It was while he was driving the School Bus that he met his life partner Winnie. Bill worked as a John Deere mechanic in Montana and moved to Seattle in 1967 where he went to work for Boeing. He worked at Boeing for 22 years and was recognized as one of the "Boeing Incredibles." Bill retired a the age of 62 and enjoyed greater than twenty years of traveling and spending time with his friends and family in Arizona and wherever he was needed. Bill prided himself on ministering to others and often times that's where his travels would take them. The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Lynwood, Wash. Floral Hills Funeral Home (409 Filbert Road) are in charge of the services and burial arrangements.
