James T. Lienesch, 87, passed away December 26, 2010, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
James Thomas Lienesch
Jim was born to Charles Lienesch and Lucy Axtell on November 24, 1922 in Long Beach, California. A pilot from early age, he served tours of duty as a flight instructor and pilot in World II and Korea for the Marine Corps, in which he reached the rank of Major.
Jim met Shirley Hartman, of Bellingham, Washignton, at the University of Washington in 1946 where both were students. The couple moved to Everett in 1953 when Jim took a position at the newly operating Scott Paper Mill thereby beginning a career lasting 30 years. Jim was an active volunteer with the Everett Jaycees and a Deacon at the Presbyterian Church.
He went on to hold general manager positions at Scott's Anacortes and Everett mills and completed his career at Mobile, Alabama in 1983. The couple retired to Scottsdale Arizona where he volunteered for Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) counseling small business entrepreneurs until 2006. Jim was a life-long and active volunteer in service organizations, an avid photographer and a voracious reader.
Jim is survived by Shirley, his wife of 61 years; their three children, Patricia, Roger and Tom; and grandchildren; Courtney and Kevin.
