Elizabeth "Betty" Jeanne Hastings, 79, passed away February 25, 2010 in Arlington, WA. She was born to Lester and Marian Fox January 18, 1931 on the family farm in Union County, OR.

Betty graduated as salutatorian of her Elgin High School class in Elgin, OR and then attended Eastern Oregon University at La Grande, OR where she met her husband, Dale H. Hastings. The Hastings lived near Boyd, OR for six years on a dryland wheat ranch and then moved to the Othello, WA area where they developed two irrigated farm units and then moved to the town of Othello. Betty worked at the Credit Bureau and as a secretary at Othello High School. After working 25 years for the weekly newspaper, Othello Outlook, as office manager, she retired and moved to Western Washington to be near family. While in Othello she was member of the Othello Christian Church and served as organist for several years and was a member of various other organizations. In Western Washington she became a member of the Marysville Nazarene Church and served as greeter.
Surviving Betty is her husband, Dale Hastings, of Arlington, WA; sons, David (Chris) Hastings, of Mill Creek, WA, and Gregory (Julie) Hastings, of Medina, WA; sister, Doris Winter, of Enumclaw, WA; grandchildren, Samuel, Tye, Benjamin, Annalise, and Sara Hastings; niece, Lorie Ann Ritzdorf; and nephew, Michael Bridges.
Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the Marysville Church of the Nazarene, 8240 64th St. NE, Marysville, WA.
