Dean Caswell, 92, of Marysville, WA passed away peacefully on August 13, 2011 at Providence Everett Medical Center surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Enid; three brothers, George, Don, and Allen; one grandson, Jon; and his wife of 62 years, Lucille.
He is survived by one sister, Mable Ann (Marion) of Des Moines, IA; one brother, Gerald of Texas; two daughters, Barbara Subert and Bev Caswell (Barry Matheny) of Mukilteo, WA; two sons, Dean of Ashland, OR and Curt (Anne) of Kirkland, WA; three grandsons, Todd Subert (Teresa), Eric Subert and John Caswell; five granddaughters, Marci Subert, Sarah Davis, Ena and Maura Query-Caswell and Brittany Matheny; one great-grandson, Morgan Subert; as well as several special nieces and nephews.

Dean was raised in Iowa, but lived in Washington for 70 years. He was drafted into the Army in 1942 and honorably discharged in 1945. He lived in Wenatchee, WA for 18 years and worked at Meadowmore Dairy and Superior Dairy before moving to Everett where he worked for 15 years at Bargreen Coffee. He and Lucille then moved to Marysville and Dean became a successful local business owner. His favorite business was Winks Drive-In on State St. It was a family business, each of the four kids took a turn at the drive thru window. Dad was a great story teller, providing his family with a wealth of family history and some really good laughs. His sense of humor, honest character and kind nature will be missed by his friends as well as his family.
Our family would like to extend a special appreciation to the Marysville Fire Dept., ER and 6th floor staff at Providence Hospital/ Colby Campus and all of the staff at Western Washington Medical Group Cardiology.
There will be a celebration of Dean's life to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Everett Animal Shelter or the Everett Gospel Mission.

Wanted to send my condolencss to your family. I remember Casey when he worked with my Dad, Michael McDaniel, in Wenatchee for Superior Dairy/Vitamilk. He always had a smile on his face. Both my mom (Audrey) and dad (Mike) who have passed away, really enjoyed the friendship they had with Casey & Lucille.

So sorry to read of the passing of Casey. He was one of my first bosses. I worked for him at Winks years ago. He was a patient man and had a great sense of humor. He did love his family so. I remember when his grandson would come in to the drive in and he could barely reach the ice cream machine and Casey got a kick out of letting him try to work the machine. Lucille was such a sweetheart, I have very fond memories of both she and Casey. I still have photos of the party he gave us when he sold Winks. He will surely be missed by alot of people.

I was so sorry to read of the passing of this special gentleman. He and Lucille managed the apartment complex just down from the post office where my parents, Lillian and Curly Ogle, lived and was always so kind to them as well as to my siblings and me. His smile always lit up any room he was in.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss and know that he will be remembered by many of us whose lives he touched.
With Deepest Sympathy and Prayers,
Susan Ogle Coolbaugh
