Jack Nelson Casseday, 86, of Kirkland, WA went home to be with the Lord on December 23, 2011. He was born August 12, 1925 in Rowlesburg, W. VA. The son of Arthur and May Casseday and grew up in York, PA. He served in the U.S. Navy for 27 years during WWII, Korean Conflict, and Viet Nam. He married Barbara Jean Hill on April 2, 1949 in Westwood, CA.

He retired as a commander in the Navy in 1968. After that he was an engineer at GTE and retired from there in 1985. He was a member of Rose Hill Presbyterian Church; MOAA (Military Officers' Association of America); and the Leonard F. Mason Ship's Alumni Group (DD-852).
He had interests in traveling, particularly taking cruises, and tinkering on his computer. He was active in the church, serving as treasurer and going to the weekly men's coffee social. He also attended the weekly GTE Retirees luncheon at the China Doll in Everett.
Jack is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean (Hill); son, James Nelson Casseday (Cathy); daughters, Carol M.C. Kirkpatrick (Tom) and Beverly Colleen Russell (Rad); four grandchildren, Christopher Kirkpatrick, Juliann Kirkpatrick-Stewart (Lawrence), Matt Kirkpatrick (Lisa), and Michele Roberts (Joey); and 13 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Dale Casseday; and his parents, Arthur and May Casseday.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Rose Hill Presbyterian Church at 12202 N.E. 90th Street, Kirkland, WA 98033. Reception to follow at the church following the memorial service.
