Ronald Lee Peebles Sr.

Ronald Lee Peebles Sr., 64 of Everett, Washington passed away November 30, 2012 with his family at his side.
Ron was born in Martinez, California, August 9, 1948 and grew up in Arkansas before joining the military at age 19. He was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served in the U.S. Army's 1st Calvary Division in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. After returning from Vietnam Ron moved to Everett and met Barbara Jean Levitt, his wife of 43 years.
Ron worked as a logger for many years in the Pacific Northwest. He was well known and well respected in the logging community for his work ethic and his logging abilities. Often times he would be referred to as a "living legend". In the mid 1980's Ron traded in his corks and chainsaw for a semi. He spent the rest of his working years as a long-haul and local truck driver. In 2006, he retired from Franz Family Bakery. He was a long-time member of the Teamsters Union Local #117.
Ron enjoyed hunting, restoring classic cars, vacationing in Mexico, and spending time with family and friends. Many of his greatest joys came from being "Papa" to his three grandchildren.
Ron is preceded in death by many family members including his mother, Frances Jones Warren; his father, Charles Peebles; his brother, "Donnie" Peebles; and his sister, Cheri Ault.
He is survived by his loving wife "his rock" Barbara; his best friend and son, Ronald Jr. (Kara); his daughter and "little girl", Julie Hall (Benjamin); and his three grandchildren, Benjamin Jr. "Slick", Ronald III "RJ", and Olivia "Big O". He is also survived by his sisters, Phyllis Tanner, Sharlene West, and Anna Marie Vail; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron died after a six year battle with cancer stemming from exposure to Agent Orange during his years of military service in Vietnam.
Our family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Daniel Goodman "Doctor G" who could always pull something out of his "bag of tricks". We would also like to give thanks to the ICU nurses at Providence Medical Center and the Everett Fire Department.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to children's cancer research.
