Kenneth Bernhardt was born on September 15, 1931 to Ed and Anita Bernhardt in Bandon, OR. He died from colon cancer on May 8, 2013.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joann; daughters, Rochelle (Clint) Terry, and Robin (Jim, deceased) Thomas; grandchildren, Danielle (Brandon) O'Brien, Daniel Terry and Lisa (Patrick) Prescott; great-grandchildren, Rilee and Caitlin Prescott and Jadan O'Brien; sisters-in-law, Ellen Wunschel and Carol Bernhardt; and nieces.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Ella and Andrew Fosse; and brother, Roy Bernhardt.
Ken was in the Army for three years and served in Korea. He loved old cars, old time music, playing pinochle and cribbage, RV traveling, eating out, building model airplanes and square dancing. He was a proud member of the Moon on A Model A Club owning a 1931 sedan and the North Cascade Chevrolet Club owning a 1939 sedan. He was never happier than when he was out driving an old car. He was a member of Normanna Lodge and the Redman Club.
The family wants to thank Dr. Laird Findlay and Donna during this difficult time. Also thank you to our Hospice team and Abdul; the owner and her family and staff at the Summer Breeze Haven AFH; and employees of Snohomish County Senior Services.
Ken was cremated and his ashes will be brought to Oregon. There will be no service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Make A Wish Foundation for terminally ill children at 811 1st Avenue, Suite 520, Seattle, WA 98104.
