Feb 25, 1932 - Sept. 4, 2013 Doris, Gillette of Edmonds, Washington died on September 4, 2013. Doris was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 25, 1932 and immigrated to Banning, California in 1948 with her parents and siblings. While there, she met and married Gene O. Gillette. They lived in San Diego while Gene served in the Navy. They subsequently moved to Redland, CA and on to Edmonds, WA. They lived in Echo Lake Where Doris worked for an Insurance Broker in Seattle and sold costume jewelry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene O. Gillette; and parents, Carl A. and E. Maxine Giese. She is survived by her two sons, Dan Gillette of Bothell, WA, and David Gillette of Snohomish, WA; and one daughter-in-law, Melody Gillette. There are four grand-children and two great-grandchildren; siblings, Halbert Giese of Calusa, CA., Jacquelin Edwards of Vancouver, WA., Joyce Bursiel of Spokane, WA., Nancy Grear of Milbank, SD., Marsha Skogsburg of LaPine, OR; and many nieces and nephews. Doris had many unique qualities. She was a good person, a good friend with a vibrant personality with an outgoing nature. A celebration of Dori's life will be held at Salem Lutheran Church, September 21, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at 9906, 232nd St. Edmonds, WA. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to the church.
