(Malfridur Kristin Gudjonson) Oct. 22, 1924 – Oct. 9, 2013 Chris passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior at home, surrounded by loved ones. She was the 7th of 11 children born to Gisli and Holmfridur Gudjonson on the family farm in Mozart, Saskatchewan, Canada. She attended the local one room school house completing grade 11 before following sisters to Grafton, ND where she met and fell in love with the neighbor boy, Orv. They were married in March of 1946 and eventually settled in Marysville, WA. Chris was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she used her passion for faith, family, friends and food. Many people benefitted from her devoted service. She was welcomed into heaven by her son, Deryl, her parents and her ten siblings. She is survived by her husband, Orv; daughters, Sharon (Don) Richards, Wendy (Mike) Rorick, Luanne (Ray) Johnson; daughter-in-law, Cyndi Belter; eleven grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Honoring our parents wishes, a private graveside service has been planned with immediate family only. After 67 years together, Mom and Dad would like to be remembered in a joint memorial service when the time presents. We wish to thank family and friends for their continued support and a special thanks to our Providence Hospice team. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Memorial committee where Chris once chaired or Providence Hospice.
