Victoria Konicke Obituary

Victoria "Vicki" Ruth Konicke, 58, of Snohomish, Washington, passed away January 15, 2016. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on January 19, 1957 to Ted and Joyce (Koechel) Frankowski. Vicki is survived by her husband of 35 years, Michael "Mike" L. Konicke; her sister, Judy (Frankowski) Ford and husband, Jim of Mequon, Wisconsin; her mother, Joyce Frankowski of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; her sons, Zachary and Alexander "Alex" Konicke of western Washington; father in-law, Thomas Konicke of Greendale, Wisconsin; and numerous brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Ted Frankowski and mother in-law, Shirley Konicke. Vicki graduated from Pulaski High School in Milwaukee, and attended University of Wisconsin – Parkside. She lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota from 1981 to 1986 working for Old Dutch Foods. In 1986, Vicki and Mike moved to Snohomish where their two sons were born. Vicki was a loving, caring, gentle woman. A great mother and wife, she was kind and compassionate, sharing her love and joy with her family and friends. She thoroughly enjoyed raising her boys and being involved in all their activities growing up. Throughout her life, she had a special intimate bond with animals and began rescuing dogs at age 9. She boarded, bred, and had a special connection with all dogs, especially Golden Retrievers. Vicki left behind an outstanding lineage of Golden Retrievers placed with many special friends throughout the USA and Canada, each who adore their new canine family members. She would load 2 to 3 of her Golden babies into her car every day and take them through Snohomish businesses and to dog parks. They were truly her buddies and they for sure respected Vicki as the Alpha dog in the pack. She even took one of her Goldens on the airplane with her when she visited her mom in Milwaukee last year. Vicki and Mike routinely took care of people's dogs when they were out of town. The owners found the Konicke residence to be a safe, fun, educational and very comfortable environment, so did the dogs. Vicki owned, bred, boarded, showed and trained horses. She down-sized to 2 horses in recent years and became less active with horses and more active with dogs. Vicki was an especially great cook and immensely enjoyed preparing both unique and customary family meals. Vicki was happiest at home with family, neighbors, friends and her animals, which she considered family. She enjoyed her neighbors and the Snohomish community where she spent the last 28 years. She absolutely loved Snohomish. She wanted to live no place but where she was, with her friends, family and animals. Her friendships with people with a common loving bond for dogs, horses and all other animals were particularly special to her. Vicki was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in south Everett, Wash. for the last 29 years. We will all miss her smile and the fullness of her laughter. She very much enjoyed and loved her life just the way it was. A private memorial service will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 8401 Holly Drive, Everett, WA. Grace is a fairly small church and may not accommodate everyone who might want to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations to ASPCA or Grace Lutheran Church would be appreciated. We were neighbors with Mike, vicki, and the boys. We moved away 15 years ago. Alex and Justin have remained good friends over the years. When Alex was young and would spend the night, often and every night that he stayed over, he would ask...."Can I call my mom?" I could hear him call to say, I love you and good night to his mom. I was always impressed on how Alex loved his mom so much. I stayed in contact with Vicki. We prayed for one anothers boys and shared many conversations of life. I know she loved her family very much. Someone shared with Vicki this summer how I was treated unfairly, She called me crying and said she was so sad for me and what I went through. I was so sad, that she was sad for me; but touched that she cared so much to call me. That is how sweet she was. I am very thankful that I got to sit and with her and Mike at a recent wedding, and when I went to visit the other neighbors that I would always make a quick stop in to see Vicki. I will miss our conversations, and my quick stops, and opportunities to visit with her again. I pray for Mike and Alex. As I pray that their twinkle in their eyes and warmth in their hearts are not forever damaged, that they can move forward knowing that so many people share in their pain, and can give comfort with friendship and wonderful memories of her that will continue on.

Dearest Mike, My heart is so very broken to know what happened and what you all must be going through. For Vickie I wish her soul a special place on the Other Side for all her contributions to you, family, friends and humanity and hope she can feel love from all. Events like these cannot be understood...they can only be healed and transformed into a stronger person, family and friends. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. Paul Gartz

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Konicke family. I have known and worked with Mike for years and he is one of the my favorite people at Boeing. I consider him a true gentleman and a professional and these characteristics are a reflection of his family. It is with deep regret that I did not have a chance to get to know his wonderful partner in life, Vicki. I can only imagine the love and grace in which she cared for and raised her family and the results are reflected in Mike's values. To have know her would have been a special privilege for me but I will continue with the memory of her in my friendship with Mike. She is forever in the arms of God and now able to watch over and protect her family under all circumstances.

What a lovely, admirable soul full of kindness and love of family {including animals} and friends. Sharing the love of animals and being blessed by her friendship was such a gift. I am so grateful she was in my life and I will always remember her. Rest In Peace Friend.
