To Hilda's Family. Please accept my Sincere Sympathy. Hilda and my Dad, Joe Rego, were 1st cousins. Their Moms, Emily Moniz and Virginia Moniz Rego were sisters. Hilda and John would always visit Cousin Joe and Alice Rego when they visited Fall River. I enjoyed speaking to Hilda on the phone and will always think of her when I make her famous Popcorn Cake! Hilda's with my Dad in heaven!

I did not know Hilda. I saw her on Emeril's show a few times. I am from Fall River, grew up in Somerset.
I lost my mother in 2000, we watched Emeril's show constantly and loved seeing his mother on the show.

I was deeply saddened to hear of your wife's passing. I remember her from my youth as the lady who never let you leave without eating. My mother "Adoline Amara" always felt a closeness to you both. I knew Mrs. Lagasse for many years. I first met her while I was a cook at The Saint John's Club in Fall River, MA. She was a good friend to Inez DeCosta, my boss and proprietor of Saint John's Kitchen. I will always remember the love and warmth Mrs. Hilda Lagasse would bring every time she visited with Inez. I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the entire Lagasse Family. Even though I only Knew Mrs. and Mr. Lagasse personally and have only met Mr. Emeril "BAM" Lagasse once, I always felt included as "family" when ever she was at the restaurant.
