Michael Patrick Malloy Sr.ROCK HILL - Mr. Michael Malloy, Sr., 50, of 1166 Winthrop Drive, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at Piedmont Medical Center. Born in Lakewood, Ohio, Mr. Malloy was the son of Roger and Ida Lange Malloy of Huntington Beach, Calif. Mr. Malloy was a member of Saint Anne Catholic Church, where he was active in the scouting ministry serving as cub master leader and Troop 277 leader and led both sons along with many others to the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked in the dairy department for Harris Teeter in Ballantyne. A mass for Mr. Malloy will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Saint Anne Catholic Church, 1694 Bird Street, with Father Elbano Munoz officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery with military honors presented by the U.S. Navy. A rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home. In addition to his parents, Mr. Malloy is survived by his sons, Michael P. Malloy Jr. and wife, Laura of Cayce, S.C., and Matthew Malloy and wife, Hilary of Norfolk, Va.; his brothers, Timothy Malloy and Kevin Malloy, both of Corona, Calif., Brian Malloy of Garden Grove, Calif, and Steven Malloy of Tulsa, Okla.; and his sister, Katie M. Kennedy of Westminster, Calif. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Scout Troop 277, c/o St. Anne Catholic Church, 1694 Bird St., Rock Hill, SC 29730. I remember Michael SR. mostly from the er days in Chester. Whenever he came in the er,to talk with you, Karen, no matter what the reason,he ALWAYS, smiled. He was a friendly man and proud of his boys,ALWAYS!
