John Franklin Wiley IIROCK HILL - John Franklin Wiley II passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at his home; he was 64. John was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Dec. 12, 1948, to John and Helen Wiley. He loved football and was a two-time letter winner for Univ. of Pittsburgh; he later became the assistant coach for the Univ. of Iowa and Iowa State Univ. John last coached in 1976-1977 for Peters Township H.S. in McMurray, Pa. He worked as a sales representative for L.G. Balfour Co. and more recently as a software salesman for Expertus, Inc. John will be remembered for his faithfulness to the Church and to the Lord; he served as Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Most of all he was an incredible husband to his wife, Karen; a loving father of six children; and a loving "pup-pup" to his 12 grandchildren. Preceding John in death was his father, John Franklin Wiley Sr. John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Karen Pawlikowski Wiley; his children, Taryn and husband, Dr. Bracken Burns, Jacqueline and husband, Michael Kita, Lauren and husband, Owen Lienhard, John Pawl Wiley, Daniel Wiley and wife, Katie and Sister Maria Francesca Wiley, O.P.; 12 grandchildren; mother, Helen Wiley; sister, Bonnie Graft; and brother, Alan Wiley. A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill, S.C., with Father John Giuliani, C.O., celebrant. A reception will follow in the Pastoral Center. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in honor of John Wiley. Online condolences to the family may be made at www.palmettofh.com. The family of Mr. Wiley is being served by Palmetto Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Mill, S.C.

I still remember John well. He gave me great counsel in our business and I remember his kindness. Glad for the remembrance and we wish Karen our very best. It is hard to believe he passed away 10 years ago.
