FORT MILL - Elaine M. Wild, of Fort Mill, S.C., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012.
The family will be receiving visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, at Palmetto Funeral Home, Fort Mill. Following visitation, a memorial service celebrating her life will be held with Steve Sanders officiating. The family welcomes those who would like to attend.
Elaine was born in Sharon, Pa., on Jan. 4, 1940, to Mike Barbat Jr. and Medena Barbat Abrutz. She graduated from Farrell High school, Farrell, Pa., and attended Youngstown College, obtaining a certification in Data Processing. Elaine worked as an administrative assistant during her professional career. She married Mike Wild in 1965, and together they relocated to Fort Mill, where she remained a resident until her passing. Her interests over the years were numerous but in particular she enjoyed sewing, gardening and her family.
Elaine is survived by her husband and sons, Justin (Heather) of Blair, S.C., Loren (Rhonda) and Brian (Carrie), both of Fort Mill; her sister, Patricia Barbat of Hermitage, Pa.; stepbrother, Toby Abrutz Jr. and family of Hubbard, Ohio; and numerous cousins. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren, Josie, Greyson and Lucas Wild. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Toby Abrutz Sr.
Arrangements are in the care of Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place Dr., Fort Mill, SC 29708.

Still in shock at Elaine's passing. It breaks our hearts. Our prayers are with all of you. She has a wonderful family, which was the delight of her life. Elaine will be missed, and forever in our hearts.
