Carole Poling DollROEBUCK - Carole Anne Poling Doll, 69, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Born July 16, 1943, in Charleston, W.Va, she was the daughter of the late Edgar "Patchy" and Virginia "Gammy" Crowley Poling. Mrs. Doll was a member of St. James United Methodist Church for 40 years. She served as chairman of the Building Committee of the Family Life Center, Prayer Garden Chairman, 50 Year Committee Chairman, former president of the United Methodist Women, was a choir member, and Cannon Sunday School Class member. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from the University of Cincinnati and worked with Dr. Walter Douglas at Gastroenterology Associates as an office nurse for 24 years. Carole also volunteered with Mobile Meals Service and SPIHN (Spartanburg Interfaith Hospitality Network). Surviving is her devoted husband of 47 years, Warwick "Wick" W. Doll; son, Mike Doll (formerly of Rock Hill) and Susan Doll of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and their children, Abigail, Andrew, Jonathan, and Timothy. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2013, at St. James United Methodist Church, by the Revs. C. E. "Smoke" Kanipe and Dr. Garrett Scott. Burial will be in Westwood Memorial Gardens, 6101 Reidville Rd., Moore, SC 29369. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 213 North Lanford Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301. The family is at the home.
