Todd, Joanne C. - Rock Hill
Joanne Todd ROCK HILL Mrs. Joanne C. Todd, 81, died on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Willowbrook Nursing at Park Pointe. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2015, at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jeff Bryan officiating. The family will visit immediately following the service at the church. Born in Long Island, N.Y., Mrs. Todd was the daughter of the late Albert Chase Clark and the late Sophie Anna Gutmueller Clark. She loved the walks with her friends in Lockwood Folly and Jamestown, N.C. and enjoyed playing tennis at both locations. Joanne traveled around the world with her family by bicycle, land and sea. She was an avid reader and enjoyed learning about the wonders of the things around her. Her consistent volunteerism for a number of causes was always in her heart and she not only touched those that loved her within her community and family, but those that never knew her name. Her selfless and caring ways touched each of the members of the Todd family in their own unique way and she loved all of us with actions over words. Her son, Steve, was always able to obtain a smile or a chuckle from his Mom, whether on the phone or on a visit and when saying goodbye. He always said "I love you," with her response always being, "I love you more." Surviving are her husband of almost 61 years, William A. Todd; her son, Steven W. Todd and his wife, Kathi of Charlotte, N.C.; her grandchildren, Jennifer Morrison, Cameron Slattery and Jordan Todd and her great-grand-sons, Clark and James Morrison. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Todd's name to Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, 421 Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730; the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 2316 Randolph Rd., Charlotte, NC 28207; or to Hospice & Community Care, P. O. Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
