Jesse Williams Obituary

LANCASTER - Mr. Jesse Alan Williams, 61, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at his home. He was born May 26, 1951, in York County, the son of the late Edgar Scott Williams Jr. and Ruth Parker Williams and was the husband of Lane Sullivan Williams. Mr. Williams retired as plant facilities supervisor for Caraustar, was an avid deer and rabbit hunter and served our great country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Lane S. Williams; a son, Alan Williams and his partner, Dale Fluty; two daughters, Melanie Martin and her husband, Ken and Michele Lowery and her husband, Roger, all of Lancaster; two brothers, Sam Parker of York and Tim Williams of Indian Land; a sister, Beverly Williams of Indian Land; and seven grandchildren, Jessica Martin, Alexis Wilson, Kenneth Martin, Austin Wilson, Matthew Martin, Cody Wilson and Justin Wilson.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Williams and a grandson, Ty Wilson.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Williams will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Belair United Methodist Church, officiated by the Rev. Harry Gindhart. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family of Mr. Williams will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Hartley Burgess Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be made to Belair United Methodist Church, Forward by Faith Fund, 8095 Shelley Mullis Rd., Fort Mill, SC 29707.
