John Heniford Obituary

John P. Heniford YORK - John P. (Jack) Heniford, 67, died Tuesday, April 29, 2015, at his home in York, S.C., of heart failure following a short illness. Jack Heniford is survived by his wife of 18 years, Juliet (Julie) Parke Myers Heniford. He was born July 8, 1947, in Kingstreet, S.C. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, John and Ruth Heniford, also of York. He was a North Carolina educator who had retired after 11 years of teaching remedial high school. Jack was a 1973 graduate of University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Jack also taught Spanish to public school teachers at Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colo., during the 1990s. Jack enjoyed life to the fullest and was a photographer, ham radio operator and aviation enthusiast. He was a familiar presence in the area as he photographed hundreds of community, school and church events. Jack was an active member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Rock Hill. He and his wife Julie were also recognized for their work in helping advocate for persons with disabilities. Graveside services are set for 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Charlotte, with the Rev. Jeffrey L. Lingle of Epiphany Lutheran Church officiating. Dear Julie I didn't know Jack but read about what a special person on he was on your Mom's blog. And I see it in the photos too. Hold fast to loving him as I am sure he holds fast to loving you. I hope and pray God's presence that bridges time and eternity, presence and absence, the things of this life and the the whole of the life that awaits us thereafter, holds you both close, close to one another and close to Him.
