YORK - Mr. Charles Clark Smith, 80, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at his home.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road, with the Rev. Kathy Soles officiating.
Born in Simpsonville, S.C., Mr. Smith was a son of the late Leo Smith and the late Minnie Lee Allen Smith. He was formerly employed with Arcade Mills and later retired from Springs Industries in Fort Lawn. He was a good, moral man who never met a stranger and was loved by everyone.
Surviving are his wife, Blanche Elaine Brooks Smith; his daughter, Charlene Ogle of Rock Hill; his brothers, Paul, Douglas and Joe Smith; his sisters, Barbara Newton and Jennie Leonard; and his grandson, Jonathan Ogle.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Memorials may be made in Mr. Smith's name to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel is assisting the Smith family.
