Happy Birthday to Adrian, my dearest husband, lover, soulmate and friend,
It took me a while, but I can finally do this. It's only been a month since you've been gone. Sometimes I look around and think that you'll be coming home soon, but God reminds me that you're already there. We shared a love that only our Creator could instill in the hearts of a husband and wife. I know that you did your best and that's all God and I asked of you. You had a long, hard fight and although you are not here, I know you won because you are an angel watching over me and Brie. She looks more and more like you everyday. I miss you so much. I know that you know we are ok. I will do my best with her, I know that you always knew I would. Love you forever.
Until we meet again,
Irisha

Dear Adrian,
The shining black prince and infectious spirit of the Gist family. I can hear you now chuckling at the compliment. Judging by most people's comments and memories, you enjoyed your short time here on earth and I'm so thankful for that!
Your last days were a struggle but you fought until you decided that you would turn it over to the Lord. I commend you for that because many of us do not have the courage to make peace with the Lord, yet we know our days are numbered.
Although, we did not spend as much time together in our adult years when we did it was eventful. However,I still have many childhood memories of you that I will forever hold on to.
Consequently, your death has caused me to be still and to reevaluate my relationships with family. Maybe you planned it that way and for that we are all indebted to you.
Thus, you are in the arms of GOD now surrounded by the spirit of your loved ones, as well as, your earth angels.I miss you dearly, but I know you are right where you are supposed to be.
So I say-until we meet again-God bless you and may your spirit bestow good fortune upon us all.
Lovingly,
Marcia

Dear Adrian,
My weep hearts for you as you departed this earth at such a young age. It is unfortunate that you will not be able to be a part of Abrielle's life in the flesh, however I know your spirit will live through her.
When I first learned that you had stomach cancer my heart was broken. I prayed each and every day that you would beat it, but the Lord had something better in store for you.
I thought together we would see the Raggedy Redskins (as my father called them) go to the superbowl this year. Nevertheless, I'll keep talking trash on your behalf! Me and the rest of the nephews will rally around your spirit as we take the NFL by storm.
May you rest in peace and enjoy both sets of your grandparents.
Love,
Auntie

Adrian,
Much love to you as you look down from heaven upon us. I will miss our playstation battles-Steelers vs Vikings. You always chose Minnesota because you couldn't beat me with yours truly-the Redskins(LOL).
Although you left us too soon, you left behind some great memories that we all will treasure. May God bless your wife and daughter, as well as, the Gist and Mitchell family.
We will do our best to take care of your earth family until we all meet again.

My condolences to the Gist Family.
To John and Etta you set a good example for Adrian as a child and he grew up to be someone you were proud of-he was wise beyond his years. Our hope as believers in Christ will end in gladness. The joy of the Lord is your strength and I saw that in you both. There is nothing too hard for God. Keep trusting in Him, Adrian is home waiting for the day he will see all of you again. The Lord has blessed you and He will always be there for you.I love you both.
