"Bill" Cannon, Sr. ROCK HILL - Mr. William David Cannon, Sr., 94, passed away Friday,August 1, 2014 at his home. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, August 4, 2014 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, with Reverend Jerry Devinney, officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Grandview Memorial Park on South Cherry Road. He was born in Rock Hill the son of the late Dave Crockett Cannon and the late Harriet Eliza Thompson Cannon. He retired from the Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. with 40 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. He was a carpenter and wood worker and was decorated U. S. Army veteran of WWII and landed on Utah Beach on D-Day. He was preceded in death by his son, William David Cannon, Jr. and two sisters, Gail Saunders and Mildred Crosby. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Bigham Cannon of the home; his daughters, LaVera Cannon Pryor (Ned) and Gale Cannon Jordan, both of Rock Hill; his step-son, Curtis Dale Brinegar (Lorie) of Charlotte, NC and step-daughter, Susie Love (Alan), of Rock Hill; his brother, David Cannon of Barnwell, SC; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grand-children. The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 PM. prior to the service at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and at other times at the home.
