James Love ROCK HILL - The funeral service for Mr. James Love, who passed away on Aug. 2, 2014, will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9. The service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church, where the Rev. Charles Sanders will officiate, and burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Love was a graduate of Emmett Scott High School and was a college graduate. Mr. Love was a Retired Sgt. Major with the U.S. Army. He served his country for 33 years after fighting in two wars. He was among the first blacks to join the U.S. Special Forces. Mr. Love was a member of the Masons, Shriners, VFW, American Legion, and Elks. Mr. Love leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Helen D. Love; three daughters, Zorita Reese (Lewis) of Houston, Texas, Stella M. Dunlap of Rock Hill, and Joyce Y. Dunlap of Catawba; two sons, James A. Dunlap of LaGrange, Ga., and Stanley W. Moore of Rock Hill; one foster son, Thomas Dixon of Raleigh, N.C.; one sister, Greta Frank of Bridgeport, Conn.; two sisters-in-law, Theodora Love and Eva Love, both of Rock Hill; 20 grandchildren which include three that were raised in the home, La'Terrence (Brock) Dunlap of Fairfax, S.C., Marisha (Reese) Duncan of Fort Mill, and Melvin Ashby (Leslie) of Houston, Texas; and 32 great-grandchildren.
