Eugene H. Howe Jr.CLEMSON - Eugene Huddleston "Gene" Howe Jr., 54, of 103 Broad Street and husband of Elizabeth "Beth" Mitchell Howe, died Monday, July 15, 2013, at his home. Born in Birmingham, Ala., he was a son of the late Dr. Eugene H. Howe Sr. and Katherine Thweatt Howe. He was a graduate of Furman University and earned his Masters from Winthrop University. He taught and coached football at McCormick, York and most recently at Pendleton High School. He was a member and sunday school teacher at Pendleton United Methodist Church and formerly at Adnah United Methodist Church in Rock Hill, S.C. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Kathryn Howe of the home; sisters, Kay Allen of Clarkesdale, Miss., Suzanne Beck of Birmingham, Ala., and Callie Grissett of Fairhope, Ala. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pendleton United Methodist Church, with the family receiving friends immediately following the service at the church. A graveside committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Adnah United Methodist Church Cemetery, Rock Hill, S.C.
