ROCK HILL - Mr. Fred Thomas “Tommy” Boatwright Jr., 62, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at his home.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road, with the Rev. Jim Parrish officiating.

Born in Rock Hill, S.C., Mr. Boatwright was a son of Fred Thomas Boatwright Sr. of Rock Hill and the late Margie Williams Boatwright. He was a decorated Vietnam Army veteran and was employed with J.R. Cole Industries in Charlotte, N.C. for 25 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his sisters, Glenda Barrentine and her husband, Darrell of York and Linda Jonas and her husband, Fred of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. (prior to service) on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, 355 E. White Street, Rock Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Boatwright’s name to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
