Ronald Wayne Jacobs CHESTER - Mr. Ronald Wayne "Ronnie" Jacobs, 65, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at his residence. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at Barron Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating. The interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at Barron Funeral Home. Born Dec. 31, 1948, in Chester, S.C., Ronnie was the son of the late Elbert McMillan Jacobs and Margaret Setzer Jacobs. He attended the schools of Chester County and was owner and operator of Jacobs Appliance and Refrigeration. Ronnie signed a minor league baseball contract with Philadelphia Phillies organization as a pitcher straight out of high school. He was proud of this accomplishment as it molded his life to become 1981 Pony League State Championship coach and also American Legion and Dixie Youth Baseball coach. Ronnie was proud to be able to impact the lives of young people and adults alike as he shared his talents of coaching and his passion for baseball. He is survived by his fianc e, Beth Harris; two sons, Donnie Jacobs and his wife, Leslie and Kevin Jacobs and his wife, Alexa, all of Chester; and six grandchildren, Dillon, Kyle, Hunter, Tyler, Savannah and Mikayla Jacobs. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Jacobs McNinch.
