Louise SheppardYORK - Thelma Louise "Cricket" Sheppard, of York, S.C., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014. She died in the home surrounded by family and friends. Louise was born in Hickory Grove on July 18, 1930, to the late Walter Green and the late Grace Alexander Green. Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Odell "Shorty" Sheppard; sisters, Betty Harper, Joanne Nivens and Lynn Dowdy; also, three grandchildren, Cole Sheppard, Danny Anderson and Lisa Eagan. Louise retired from Pharr Yarns in Clover. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with family. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in York. Louise is survived by and was the loving mother of six children, Buddy (Linda) Sheppard, Ronnie Sheppard (Elaine), Linda (Harold) Montgomery and Carol Bynum, all of York, Joe (Brenda) Sheppard of Gastonia and Barbara Emory of Rock Hill. Louise is survived by a sister, Margaret (Harold) Ramsey; two brothers, Kenny (Ellen) Green and Bob Green of York; grandchildren, Joie Anderson, Keith Montgomery (Jen), Carrie (Scott) Good, Joe (Joyce) Sheppard and Melissa Sheppard of York, Kristy (Chuck) Chavers of Clover, Lee Lowder of Rock Hill, Christie Kazimer of Pittsburgh and Amy (Pete) Hodge and Robbie Johnson of Gastonia. She was also blessed to have 24 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and special friends. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church, 3852 Woodlawn Street, Sharon, S.C. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Barry Lambert officiating. Interment will follow the funeral at Woodlawn Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the
