Bryan Carrington Pritchett
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Bryan Carrington Pritchett, 30, of The Palisades, Charlotte, N.C., died Friday, April 11, 2014.
Bryan was born June 29, 1983, in Newton, Mass., to David W. and Pamela Burhop Pritchett of Charlotte. He was a 2001 graduate of Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville, Fla.  On 9-11-2001 Bryan joined the U.S. Coast Guard and after serving four years of active duty continued to serve his country in the Air National Guard. He was proud to have served both in the active military and the reserves.
Bryan was gregarious and all heart. He was a tremendous help to his parents and all that he knew. He cherished his pets and was forever bringing home stray cats to love. He was a huge movie buff and could quote dialogue from entire scenes and one-line zingers from his favorite films. He loved music and sang in his high school chorus and played the guitar and the trumpet.
Because he had a rare blood type, he generously donated blood many times to the American Red Cross.
Bryan graduated from Central Piedmont Community College in 2012. He was close to earning a bachelor's degree in psychology from University of North Carolina Charlotte and wanted to use his knowledge and skills to help troubled adolescents.
His light will continue to shine in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents; his brother, Thomas E. Pritchett (Suzanne); niece, Caroline Pritchett; nephew, Jackson Pritchett; maternal grandmother, Jane Burhop; aunts, Beverly Thompson and Lucy Pritchett; and uncle, David Burhop.
The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April, 15, 2014, at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 4820 Charlotte Hwy., Lake Wylie, S.C. A Service of Remembrance was held at 6 p.m. during the visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations be made in Bryan's name to The Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarrior
