Floyd Hailey Jr. YORK - Mr. Charles Floyd Hailey Jr., 86, of 435 W. Mt. Gallant Road, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Rev. Tony Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Laurelwood cemetery with full military honors provided by a combined team from the U.S. Navy and the American Legion Honor Guard from Frank Roach Post #34 in Rock Hill. A native of Rock Hill, Floyd was the son of the late Sophia Thompson and Charles Floyd Hailey Sr. A member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Floyd was a retired realtor and real estate appraiser. He was a past-president of the Rock Hill Jaycees and a recipient of The Henry Giessenbier Award for local chapter membership recruitment. He was a past-chairman of Rock Hill Parks and Recreation, served as president of the Rock Hill Board of Realtors, was a secretary for the South Carolina Board of Realtors, was a member of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers with SRPA designation and past-president of American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers with RM designation. Floyd also served as co-chairman of the Come See Me Festival in its third year. He was a charter member and past-president of the Rock Hill Builders Association. Floyd was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and served as treasurer of the Frank Roach Post #34 of the American Legion where he was a member for 40 years. He was also a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps and the 40 & 8 and V.F.W. Post #2889 in Rock Hill. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Nancy Louise Langley Hailey of the home; his son, Charles Floyd "Chuck" Hailey III and wife, Tammy of Rock Hill; two daughters, Dora H. Tucker and husband, Steve of Chester, S.C., and Fran "Kathy" Hailey of Rock Hill; six grandchildren, Charles Floyd "Charlie" Hailey IV, Jenny Ray, Les Ayers, Morgan St. Romain, Maddie St. Romain and Blake St. Romain; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732, and other times at the home.
