ROCK HILL - Martha Starnes Brazzell, 68, of 1073 Neely Store Road, passed away on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at her home.
Ms. Brazzell was of the Baptist faith and a member of Security Baptist Church in Rock Hill.
Ms. Brazzell was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James L. Starnes; five brothers, Ralph Starnes, Thomas Starnes, Robert Starnes, Marvin Starnes and Gene Starnes; one sister, Joyce Blackwell; and Phillip Ray Starnes Jr., who was more of a son than nephew to her.
She is survived by her son, Ted Geery (Lavonia); her daughter, Sheila Gupta; three brothers, Fred Starnes (Barbara), Phillip Ray Starnes Sr. (Kay), of Rock Hill and Donnie Starnes (Sis) of Lancaster, S.C.; two sisters, Annette Williams (Rev. Tommy Williams) and Carolyn Porter of Rock Hill; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 30, at Security Baptist Church, 424 Annafrel Street, Rock Hill. Following the service, family and friends will be received at her home on Neely Store Road.
