Visitation will be held from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on Sat., Aug. 1, 2015 at First Christian Church in Bradenton, FL. Gordon McGovern, Jennie Luella  
Gordon McGovern, Jennie Luella Nov. 13, 1922 - Jul. 2, 2015 Jennie Luella Gordon McGovern passed away at the age of 92 in Cape Coral, FL on July 2, 2015 at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral, FL. Born in Keytesville, MO, she attended Blackburn College in Illinois, and her first teaching assignment was in a one room schoolhouse. Jennie joined the Navy WAVES in 1943, and was a LINK trainer in Pensacola, FL. It was there that she met and married her husband, William J. McGovern, Jr. At the end of WWII they moved to Long Island, NY, where Jennie earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Hofstra University. She retired from the Bethpage, NY, school system with over 30 years as a first grade teacher. Jennie moved to the Palm Aire subdivision in Sarasota, Florida, where she resided for over 35 years. She is pre-deceased by her husband. Jennie is survived by her three children, William J. McGovern III, Margaret (Peggy) Mocharski, and Kathleen (Kathy) Lawrence, seven grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Jennie is also survived by her sister, Helen Gaston of Ottawa, IL and brother-in-law, Don Gaston. She was a member of AAUW and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an avid reader and enjoyed golf. There will be a memorial service for Jennie at the Hope Hospice Chapel in Cape Coral, FL on August 7, 2015 at 10:00 am. She will be interred at the Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hope Hospice Services, 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908. Grogan, Anna Maria 'Ann' Jun. 12, 1940 - Jul. 19, 2015 Anna Maria 'Ann' Grogan, 75, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, died on Jul. 19, 2015. Born and raised in Hell's Kitchen, to the late Vincent Barclay and Anne Marie Barclay, she began working at NY Telephone at the age of 16 years old and retired in 1994. She was a resident of Hasbrouck Heights for 25 years. After moving to Sarasota, FL in 2001, she worked for ERA Mt. Vernon Realty, as an Administrator. Beloved wife of the late Frederic, who passed in 1988. Devoted mother to daughters Patricia Grogan Pressano, of Sarasota, FL, Theresa Keogh, and a son, William Keogh, of Lake Arrowhead, CA. She is also survived by her favorite grandson, Michael Pressano, and the love of her life, her great-grandson, Major Pressano, both of Sarasota, FL. Devoted Aunt to Sean Kerr (Lisa), and a great niece, Megan, all of Long Island, NY, as well as other nieces and nephews. Also survived by her brother, Vincent Barclay (Yvonne) and predeceased by her sister, Kathleen Kerr. Arrangements by National Cremation and Burial Society. Mass Service will be said at St. Martha's Church, Sarasota, FL on August 1, 2015 @ 10:00 am. Memorial Service in New Jersey to be determined in the near future.
