Alice M. (Herlihy) LaFleur, 102, a resident of Westerly, RI, and Sarasota, FL, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, after a long and blessed life. She was the wife of the late William Carl LaFleur, Sr.
Born in Newton, MA, on November 22, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Elizabeth (Garvey) Herlihy.
Alice was administrative assistant for Bell Telephone and also for her husband's food brokerage company.
Mrs. LaFleur was an avid bridge player and golfer throughout her long life. She was a volunteer for the Women's Exchange in Sarasota, FL. She was a long time communicant of the Incarnation Church in Sarasota, FL, and also St. Clare Church in Westerly.
She will be sadly missed by her sons; David M. LaFleur and his wife Eugenia of Sarasota, FL and Deacon William "Carl" LaFleur and his wife Dawn of Westerly. She was the loving grandmother of four and great grandmother of six. She was predeceased by her brother; John Herlihy and sister; Elizabeth Lawson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday July 25, 2013 at 9:30 AM at Incarnation Church 2929 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, FL.
