Survived by spouse, Margaret (Marge); children, Steve (Carol) Minchella, Toni Lynn (Bob) Johnson; daughter-in-law, Candy Minchella; grandchildren, Renee Minchella, Melissa (Brandon) Fitch, Jonathan (Andrea) Minchella, Kristine (Mastin) Jones, Rob (Rachel) Johnson, Kimberly Minchella; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Minchella; sister, Anna Eiff; sister-in-law, Frieda Minchella. Tony attended Madison High School and after graduation joined the Marine Corp. After discharge, he joined the Rochester Police Dept. where he worked for over 30 years. He was promoted to detective and head of the White Collar Crime Unit, and worked closely with the Sheriff's Dept., State Police and Secret Service. He served as president of the Rochester Police Locust Club and helped found the Monroe County Federation of Police serving as its first president.
Upon retirement, Tony and Marge moved to Englewood, FL where he joined the Elks Lodge and served as Exalted Ruler. He helped found the Florida Elks Youth Camp and served as president of the Florida Elks Youth Camp Board of Directors, and was named Elk of the Year.
Tony and Marge were married for 63 years, enjoying each other's company in travel and dancing. His children and grandchildren remember him for his dollhouse workmanship, swimming pool volleyball, and trips to bookstores, horseback riding, and miniature golf. He was a great friend to many people who will remember him as someone who always lent a helping hand.
Tony's funeral service was held December 11 in Rochester. Interment private.
