Beverly Shults, 87, of Sarasota passed away February 27, 2013. Born in Detroit, Michigan on July 4, 1925, the daughter of the late Harold E. and Mabel C. Stowell, Bev was raised in Syracuse and Buffalo New York. She was a graduate of Amherst High School in Buffalo N.Y. and attained her art degree from the Albright Art School in Buffalo. She married Robert D. Shults, Jr. of Fayetteville N.Y. on January 17, 1948. In 1955 they moved from Massena, New York to St. Petersburg, Florida with their sons, Peter and Thomas. Bev was an avid fisherwoman, artist, and HAM radio operator and was a student of all things mechanical and scientific as well as being a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Her husband, Robert predeceased her in 1995. Shortly thereafter Beverly moved to Sarasota. She is survived by her sons, Peter S. Shults of Gulfport, Florida and Thomas D. Shults of Sarasota, daughter-in-law Deborah L. Shults of Sarasota, grandsons Daniel E. and Timothy T. Shults, sister Carol Morris of Sarasota, nephew John Barrett of Sarasota and niece Cynthia Morris of Atlanta, Georgia.
Services will be private and her remains will be interred with those of her husband, Robert, at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida.
