Bryan T. Kovzelove

Kovzelove, Bryan T.
Oct. 25, 1942 - May 15, 2013
Bryan T Kovzelove, 70, of Englewood, Florida (formerly of Wolcott, CT) passed peacefully on May 15, 2013, entering into the protective arms of our Lord after fighting a brave battle with cancer.
Bryan was predeceased by his parents, Bryan S. and Eileen (Cadotte) Kovzelove. He leaves behind his best friend and wife of 49 years, Kathleen (Boulanger) and their three wonderful children - Barbara Cramblett (Robert) of Kernersville, NC, Bryan E. (Pamela) of North Port, FL, and Lynn Guarrera (Christopher) of Thompsons Station, TN. He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Matthew, Erik, Megan, Christopher, Tyler and Jaime.
He also leaves behind his loving brother Frank (Jean) Kovzelove of Chantilly, VA and his adored sister, Sharon Shoyer (Andrew) of Lutz, FL and many nieces, nephews and good friends whom he adored.
Bryan served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Lloyd Thomas during the Vietnam crisis. He was a proud member of the Tin Can Sailors, The DAV Chapter 97 in Sarasota, FL; American Legion, Cocorahs Weather Alert Team, and The Englewood, FL Elks Club.
In his early years, he would be found diving wrecks in the Caribbean and renting trawlers in St. Thomas for bareboat charting expeditions. He and his wife became seasoned cruisers as he loved the sweet scent of the salt water and the sound of the waves crashing.
Bryan was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Hartford, CT for his entire working career, retiring to Englewood, FL. He was also employed during his "retired years" at Mote Marine Laboratory.
His presence will be greatly missed. He was brilliant, loving, patient, funny and brave. Each day was a gift to him and he used his gifts wisely. He loved with intensity, never missing an opportunity to tell you how much he loved you.
A celebration of Bryan's Life will be held on Friday May 24, 2013 at 11:00 am, at Lemon Bay Funeral Home. Burial will follow with military honors at 2:00 pm, at Sarasota National Cemetery.
