Carol Joy McClintic

McClintic, Carol Joy
Dec. 11, 1938 - Nov. 27, 2012
Carol Joy McClintic, loving mother, grandmother and true friend, passed away November 27th, 2012 following a courageous battle with lung cancer. The daughter of Sven John Streed and Edith J. Johnson, Carol was born December 11th, 1938 and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Hollis L. McClintic on Oct. 23, 1972. As a single parent residing in Portage, MI, Carol worked for the juvenile/probate court in Kalamazoo and raised her 3 children: Pamela Lee, Paul John and Leslie Meredith. During this time she often provided shelter, love and strong advice to those in need. Carol moved to Sarasota, FL and began one of her most enjoyable chapters, working as an administrator for the Sarasota Police dept. Following her retirement Carol moved to Boise, ID to enjoy time with her grandchildren: Karli Raine, Mackenzie Rose, Ali Lynn, Kaiden River and son in law Kurt Victor. Carol especially enjoyed holidays and liked to begin her decorating early. She liked to read, cook, bake, entertain and work outside in the yard tending to her many flower pots and beds. She loved to travel to new places and never lost her sense of adventure. Along her journey Carol never hesitated to help others. Her heart was as big as her smile. She was genuine, non-judgmental, tolerant, and compassionate. Carol was a confidant and friend to all. She always saw the good in others and never met a person that didn't like her. Carol, you will be missed and thought of daily. You are forever in our hearts.
