Daisy E. Chipman, 93, died peacefully Sunday, February 17th in Port Charlotte, Florida following a brief illness. Funeral arrangements by: Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service. North Liberty, Iowa Funeral Services: 10 AM, Monday, February 25th at Lensing's Oak Hill, Coralville, Iowa. A Memorial Fund has been established.
Born March 30, 1919 in Iowa City, IA. On August 23, 1940 Daisy married Carroll Chipman. Daisy and Carroll farmed in the North Liberty area where Daisy also drove the school bus and was a cook at Clear Creek Schools. They managed the Farm Service in North Liberty for many years. Disy spent her winters in Florida.
Daisy had a wonderful sense of humor and treasured the time spent with family. Daisy was a gifted seamstress, knitter and cook. She was an avid bowler and card player. Throughout the years Daisy and Carroll enjoyed camping with family and friends. Her memberships included the Whip-O-Will Club and H2U in Florida.
Daisy is survived by four children, Alan (Barbara) Chipman of Williamsburg, Carolyn Matousek and Arthur (Colleen) Chipman, both of North Liberty, and Cindy (Gary) Winters of Mt. Juliet, TN; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; her sister, Doris Moore and her sister- in-law, Marilyn Grout.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Gary and four siblings.
