Boynick, Israel J
Oct. 6, 1915 - Feb. 24, 2013
Israel Jacques "Chuck" Boynick died peacefully at the Tidewell Hospice in Sarasota on February 24, 2013 after a brief illness. Chuck was born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 6, 1915. He grew up in the Boston area. He served honorably in the United States Army during World War II
. Chuck and his first wife, Adele, had two children, Vicki Boynick Monis and Bruce Boynick, who died too young in July, 2012.
Adele died in 1975. Chuck was most fortunate, after the premature death of Adele, to have met and then married a second loving companion, Muriel "Muby" Partnow Boynick. After retiring, Chuck and Muby moved to Sarasota where they lived in happiness in their home in the Meadows until Muby died after a brief illness in October, 2012.
Chuck was a successful businessman who owned Grillco, a building supply outlet near Boston until he retired and moved to Sarasota. Chuck loved to play golf, to exercise, to read, to drive fine automobiles, and to stay informed on public events. He also loved animals, and was saddened by the death of his last dog, Puck the Pug, in 2012. While a man of strong opinions, he was respectful of others. He and Muby were well known and much loved by the staffs at many restaurants and other establishments in the Sarasota area. He had remained very active, even at the age of 97, until the recent decline of his health.
Chuck was predeceased by his first wife, Adele, his second wife, Muriel, his son, Bruce, and his loyal dog, Puck. He is survived by his daughter Vicki Monis of Las Vegas, his grandson, Adam Monis, also of Las Vegas, his daughter-in-law, Andrea, of Chicago, and Muriel's three children, Dr. Jeffrey Partnow of Fairbanks, Alaska, Peter Partnow of Anchorage, Alaska, and Susan Goodman of Ft. Myers, Florida.
After cremation, interment shall occur at a time to be determined near Adele, Muriel, and Bruce at Sharon Memorial Park in Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chuck's memory may be made to the Bruce C. Boynick Scholarship Fund at Northwestern University.
