James Edward "Jim" Ross, peacefully entered heaven's gates May 6. Born in Columbus, OH, he graduated from Rosary High & as an avid Buckeye fan, passed that passion down to his children. He was in the Army Color Guard during the Korean War
& was deemed the youngest person in Ohio to own a VW Dealership in the 50's. A generous, charismatic man; he was known for his unwavering faith in God, photography, painting, & ability to connect to and see the best in everyone he met. He played " St. Nick" for many years especially during 'Nantucket Christmas Stroll delighting kids of all ages with his hearty Ho, Ho, Ho & twinkly eyes. He married Janet (Bricker) and is the proud Papa Bear to: Jill Elizabeth, Houston, TX; James Eric (Alice), Siesta Key, FL & Boston, MA; Jessica Erin (Kevin Longworth), Bradenton, FL; Jennifer Elaine (David) Samson, Balfron, Scotland; Jason Edouard, Maui, HI; grandson: Benjamin Ross Wampler, Sarasota, FL & his beloved cat Angelo. He is survived by his sister; Janet (Bob) Durbin, Worthington, OH & his brother; John (Mary) Ross, Napa, CA and many nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his mother; Kathryn (Aumiller), father; John Raymond Ross, stepfather; Edwin McCaffrey & step brother; William McCaffrey.
Memorial service is to be held June 20th, 3:00 PM at Church of Hope. Located at 1560 Wendell Kent Rd. Arrangements by All Veterans-All Families Funerals & Cremations.
