Jean Shedden Bing, 84, Venice, FL died Nov. 13, 2012. Born Sept. 18, 1928 in Murfreesboro, TN. Her early life was lived in Old Hickory, TN where she graduated from DuPont High School. She worked in the office of the Dean of Admissions UT Knoxville, attended University of Maryland, was a homemaker and 35 years, active in Red Cross and Girl Scouting as a member, leader and trainer of leaders. She lived in Nokomis from 1971 - 2003 and then permanently in Venice. She was active in Venice Presbyterian Church where she served several terms as an elder, active in Presbyterian Women and PEO, a volunteer with HAV of Venice Hospital, a clerk and assistant clerk with the Election Polls, Past President of the Ladies of Venice Shrine, Daughters of the Nile, Venice Quilt Guild. Survivors include daughters, Martha Ann Ackroyd of Venice, Brandy Rutherford of Knoxville, TN and Peggy Mahaulu of Ocala; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Venice Presbyterian Church. National Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
