John H. Deam, MD, 87, of Bradenton died April 21, 2013. He was born October 4, 1925 in Reading, PA. John attended Birdsboro High School, Albright College and Jefferson Medical College. He served in the Navy for 2 years as a Pharmacist's Mate 2nd Class and received the Victory Medal. He established his medical practice in Anna Maria Island in 1960. He was the Chief-of-Staff for Manatee Hospital in 1975; was a member of Roser Memorial Church, Anna Maria Island Historical Society, Key Royale Club, Sons of the American Revolution, and Manatee Medical Society. John was an avid golfer and fisherman. John was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Alice Strickler. He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Thompson of Palm City, FL, and four children, David (Gail) Deam MD of Spring Hill, FL, Donna (James) Hitchings of Woking, England, Douglas (Ann) Deam DDS of Miami, FL and Debra (Bill) Sanders of Bradenton, FL; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Roser Chapel, Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 11:00 am.
