Dr. John J. Wroblewski, 83 of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at his residence. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, December 8th at 2:00 in the Chapel of Toale Brothers Funeral Home located at 40 North Orange Avenue, Sarasota, Florida. John was born July 6, 1930 in Anamosa, Iowa to the late John and Tena Wroblewski. He was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Wroblewski. John is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Janet Wroblewski. His children Chris Chase of Arlington, Texas, Susan Rott (Mike) of Orland Park, Illinois, Cynthia Kaul (Sumeet) of Tampa, Florida, Steven Wroblewski (Amy) of Warner Robins, Georgia; grandchildren Michelle, Marcey, Payton, Taylor, Jacob, Nicholas, Camden, Sophia and Emily; great-grandchildren Mae, Mary Claire and Chase; Sister, Virginia Rowell of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and brother Lavern Wroblewski of Bradenton, Florida; along with other family and close friends including his little shadow, Bailey.
John graduated from the University of Iowa
with a Doctorate in Philosophy and maintained a long career in the field of education. He served many roles in the classroom and as an administrator and Superintendent of schools ranging from Iowa, Washington State and continued to Blue Island Schools in Illinois. After his distinguished career as an educator, he retired and moved his family to Sarasota, Florida where one could find him on a warm and sunny day herding his cattle or working in his orange grove. John was a man of many passions. He enjoyed the summers with his grandkids and the travels with his wife from the North Georgia Mountains to the prairies of Iowa.
