Lucille Judith Zelinski died Jan. 1, 2013, at her home in Sarasota in the loving care of her family. She was the fifth of eight children of Lucy and Gus Mazzocca, an Italian immigrant who made his way in America playing trumpet and teaching music.
She married Richard Zelinski in 1949 and together they owned the Katrina Pastry Shoppes in the Boston-area. They moved to Sarasota from Braintree, Mass., in 1978, and renovated six houses on Lido Shores and two houses on Bird Key.
Since 1945, she was a summer resident of Gus' Lodge, an inn founded by her parents on New Hampshire's Lake Winnipesaukee.
Mrs. Zelinski is preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1993, and daughter, Katrina Speight, who died in 2008. Survivors are son, Richard Zelinski of Sarasota; daughter, Gretchen Enns of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; brother, Gus Mazzocca of West Hartford, Conn.; sisters, Helena Puorro of Quincy, Mass., Janice D'Orlando of Cataula, Ga., Caroline Von Kleydorff of Columbus, Ga., and Norma Marshall and Mary Ann Keay, both of Center Harbor, N.H.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family is hosting a celebration of her life at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mrs. Zelinski's home in Palm Aire. Inurnment will be in Center Harbor, N.H. Wiegand Brothers is in charge of arrangements.
