Muriel O'Neil of Sarasota died on October 14th. She was 90 years old. Born in Chicago, Ms. O'Neil followed her publishing career to New York, where she held important positions for various magazines as well as for The New York Times. She also assisted in the publication of the American Heritage series in its early years. Ms. O'Neil retired to Florida over two decades ago, where she became involved in local theatre and served as president of her condominium association. She is survived by her sister, Dr. Gertrude Hight. Services private.
