Sweela Risden was born June 3, 1915 in Cold Creek, Tennessee and died on September 7, 2013 in Venice, Florida. She was 98 years old. She is preceded in death by William "Bill" Risden, who she was married to for 70 years, her parents, Ancel and Hassie Hentchel, two sisters, Thelma Harper and Gladys Ulery, one brother, RC "Skinny" Hentchel and grandson, Stuart "Bradley" Day. Survivors include her daughter Sheila and husband Samuel Davis and MOM's other daughters, Delores, Linda, Elaine and Mary, two grandsons, Barclay, Bentley and his wife Rhonda. three great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Wyatt, and Kalyn. Sweela and Bill owned the Standard Oil Service Station during the war years and when Bill returned they purchased the Western Auto Store. They created Cumberland Television Inc. which operated and sold, retiring to a winter home in Englewood while retaining their Cumberland residence. She was a member of the Women's club for 52 years, Bridge Club, Honorary member of the Rotary Club
and the Cumberland Methodist Church.
A graveside service (Rest Haven in Harlan) will be announced at a later date.
