Theresa "Teddie" Sinick, 98, a Longboat Key resident for more than 35 years, passed away on April 14 at the Benderson Center in Sarasota. She moved to Longboat Key in 1977 from West Hartford, CT with her husband, Sidney, who passed away in 2001. For more than 48 years, Theresa and Sidney owned a hardware business in Windsor, CT. During World War II while her husband was serving in the U.S. Navy, Theresa supported her country as an assistant to Cmdr. Delvimer M. Steece, supervisory head of the Department of the Navy, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford, CT. Theresa belonged to Temple Beth Israel on Longboat Key, and was a lifetime member of Hadassah, ORT, and The National Council of Jewish Women.
She was born in Bridgeport, CT, the youngest of nine children, all of whom have predeceased her. Survivors include a daughter, Gail, of Longboat Key; a son, Marshall (Heidi) of Bethesda, MD; three grandsons, Ethan (Marta) of London, UK; Zachary (Elizabeth) of Los Angeles; and Kyle of New York City, and two great grandchildren, Mathilda and Leo of London, UK.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 22, 11:00 a.m. at the Temple Beth Israel section of Palms Memorial Park in Sarasota. Contributions in Theresa's memory may be made to Temple Beth Israel, or to Manasota Lighthouse For the Blind and Visually Impaired or to a
